- I had to disable a built in port via the BIOS because of a
- conflict with an SMC PnP ethernet card.

- Several others also reported that the same modem (same version
- and ROM checksum even) worked fine in their Tyan MB's. The
- third one I tried would transfer up to 10K files with no problem,
- but larger files eventually caused it to lock up _again_. So
- that was three strikes with USR. I used the RMA to get a
- Practical Peripherals, which works just fine. (Two FTP connections
- and a telnet - this telnet - and IBM's dialer reports 3550 CPS
- and IT DOESN'T LOCK UP! It doesn't do voice either, but that
- doesn't matter much when the modem doesn't perform it's normal
- functions in the first place.
